Adverse reaction after updosing - should I hold or taper?

September 20, 2026··
After 25 years on Paxil 10 mg, I started tapering down to 3,5 mg. Looking back, too fast. When withdrawal got severe, I updosed to 4->4,5->5 mg in a short period - afterwards feeling a bit better. After 3 months I still felt quite unstable physically and emotionally, and was advised to go back to 10 mg. I chose to updose first to 6 and then to 7, immediately feeling 'high', drowsy / dizzy, pressure on head. After a couple of weeks, I had this feeling permanently. It scared me, so decided to go back to 6,5, but got very ill with vomiting. Going back to 7 the next day, the dizziness got worse. I now feel challenged to take a walk outside, do groceries, travel... I read on Surviving Antidepressants that I should have gone back right away to 5, when I got the adverse reaction after updosing. Because of a clearly sensitized nervous system. Not sure what to do now - should I still try to taper back to six real slow, or hold at 7 for more stability, hoping that my head will settle down?
