Horrible time getting off or establishment of schedule for tapering. I’m miserable.

Hi WendyA, Yes, I can confirm that it can be very difficult. Could you tell us a little more about exactly what you’ve tried so far? What doses did you take? Over what period of time? And so on. That way, we can compare and share our experiences with each other.

Cymbalta — 17,5mg(12mg) — 17 Jahre — holding -with clinician - 90 mg – 2021: First tapering attempt.
60 mg – 2023: Second tapering attempt.
With a doctor's supervision—but unfortunately, a doctor who doesn't know how to properly taper off an antidepressant.

Mentally for me physically no,, stick with it this is a great support group, and me living in Australia I feel at times not enough information over here for all the symptoms and withdrawals of these putrid medicines they whack onto us,, keep going I know its hard 😪

I agree with Debby, I'm from Australia too and there is little to no support hear in Qld on withdrawing from these drugs. Certainly no Doc or medical person I've gone to.

its ok i found a compounding chemist to take over,, giving me liquid drops they are working out my formula for tapering, not cheap, but saves all the stress andd anxiety of hubby and I weighing beads.

MMM im not reading it as it will spiral me out of control,, i presumed that the chemist who suggested this is up with it all Im going to a compound pharmacy called Prospectus pharmacy in Adelaide Australia ..they have great reviews and have been very helpful,, i just dont start till next saturday ,,im a bit scared now dueto my severe withdrawals.

It’s no better in the US…. My doctor told me today “ don’t give the medicine that much power!” Seriously? The meds have all the power! Anyone trying to get off Trazadone?

Paxil — 20 mg — 20 years. Went off now back on — holding
Trazadone 25 mg
Buspar 5 mg two times a day
Ativan .25 at night

@Debby @Tom Australian here, too :) Debby: I was too freaked out to do my own liquid, so I've been getting liquid compounded by a chemist since I went below 3.75mg a couple of years back. It is very costly, but I like the peace of mind. I did try doing it myself with water, but as Mirtazapine doesn't dissolve and only creates a suspension, I was nervous about reliability, which is now super important since I'm in the low-dose realm. Don't know if I was imagining it, but I thought it didn't feel as effective. It also didn't seem to throw me into worse WD, though, so that's something. Anyway, for now, I'm sticking with chemist-compounded gear as it feels safer and more stable. FWIW, when I transitioned from pills to liquid, I didn't do the gradual/combined dosing, as some recommended on SA - just moved to straight to liquid. Didn't have any problems, but everyone's different.

Mirtazapine — 0.12mg — 3 years, 7 months
