Hi, I'm Leminaseri

September 24, 2026··
Hello. Im tapering off of my Zoloft. I am on them for 5 years and 9 months now. I started with 100mg and tapered so far down to 6,52mg. I’m doing as bad as ever since my last reductions. So bad that I’m afraid, my marriage and my apprenticeship will fail altogether. So the only reasonable option left for me is to updose. I am planning to go up to 6,6mg first. If that does not cause trouble I even aim to go higher because I also miss the therapeutic effects of the drug, as bad as they are. When I compare my situation from 6 months ago, where I was on dosages like 8mg, I was doing so much better. I need to feel that again to complete my vocational training and my wife is very disturbed by my problems. Any tips for the reupdosing? What should I be looking for when updosing? I know there are risks but staying like this and hoping that I will stabilize is no more an option because I am under severe pressure with normal life circumstances.

Welcome @Leminaseri ! I am sorry you are struggling at the moment. I am tapering Zoloft too. How long have you been on 6.52 mg already? Have the symptoms changed since the reduction at all? I think it makes sense to updose a little if it's getting too difficult to deal with. Especially if you have responsibilities to take care of. What happened during previous reductions? You might want to hold the dose for some time now, just to get used to everything. Feel free to share your experience
