"I have the opportunity to do a certain medical procedure that may help me out but I need to be off the Trazodone first."I see. Unfortunately, the process of psychiatric drug withdrawal can't be rushed. If you're already destabilized from the Gabapentin withdrawal, tapering Trazodone could very well upset the apple cart even more, if you know what I mean.
"What do you think about that?"I think anything is possible if it can be tolerated. It all depends on how your body reacts. We can't tell you not to do it, but if you try and you feel worse then that might a sign that you'll need to slow down.

"I hear Trazadone is supposed to be easier to get off of than other Anti depressants?" — @BrettWThey all have potential issues, but Trazodone isn't generally known for causing as severe withdrawal as some others. Hopefully it will go smoothly for you!

"I think I will have to wait until I stabilize from the Gabapentin withdrawal. My system just can’t take it." — @BrettWI'm sorry you're getting akathisia....it's the worst. Giving yourself time to stabilize is so important for any future tapers you do. It'll make things much smoother for you.

"What I do is take 50mg before bed and 12.5mg when I awake. Do you think this double dosing is ok?" — @BrettWHow is it affecting you? Do you have any side effects?

"I got a 12.5mg/mo liquid solution made and I’m honestly feeling it!!? Is it a difference between how the solid and liquid are absorbed? I can’t believe I’m this sensitive" — @BrettWI don't know about the absorption rates, but I do know that some people have trouble when switching to liquid.

"I got a 12.5mg/mo liquid solution made and I’m honestly feeling it!!" — @BrettWWhen i switched from pills to beads in capsules i also felt it and my doc didn‘t believe me, i guess with liquid it‘s the same. I think the absorption is faster and you get a faster spike, so you feel it more initially. Just an assumption.

Thanks for sharing this!

"just steady eddy for a year or whatever for the Gabapentin issues stabilize then taper the liquid Trazodone and go from there."I'm relieved to hear that this is your plan! Your body will thank you because you certainly don't want to taper from a place of instability. 👍
