3+ weeks in bad withdrawals

September 20, 2026··
Hey, hope you are all well! So Im now 3+ weeks into intense withdrawals that happened right after/when i got a strepthroat infection. This was 2 months after my last dose reduction from 39 to 38. Its sometimes unbearable, especially the suicidal thoughts with these such intense sensations. Any recommendation?

Hi Anton, I'm so sorry to hear things are so difficult for you right now. It sounds like the infection and antibiotics really churned up some serious withdrawal symptoms. I'm concerned that you mentioned suicidal thoughts and intense symptoms. I'm glad you're reaching out for help though. I will share some information we have about how to deal with suicidal thoughts, and I hope it helps you to hang in there. https://taper.community/thread/a42c21cc-01a1-4189-a989-9e6333a428ab https://taper.community/resources/blog/suicidal-thoughts-during-withdrawal https://taper.community/thread/4af4f28b-1cc4-470f-b354-65058eeb38b8 We're here whenever you need to reach out, you're not alone. ❤️

I am sorry to hear that you are struggling. Some things I try when feeling bad are: find distraction, reminding myself that it will get better, reaching out to someone. Please take good care of yourself. I think you are very strong to handle all of this! Do you think the infection is gone already? Being sick unfortunately can really disturb the balance. Hope you will have moments and days of feeling a bit better soon. Is there anything that helped you in the past, even if it was just a little bit?

@Ani Thank you! I’m quite sure that the infection is gone, but I think ill have a doctor visit this week! This is by far the worst I’ve felt during my taper. Had horrible few days when going from 40 to 37.5 back in january, but upping the dose to 40 resolved that. So this one is quite difficult, whether to stay at same dose or up it, especially regarding this happening 2 months post dose reduction
