I am currently on day 11 of my 2% reduction. It has had its ups and downs, but it hasn't caused a full collapse. It mostly feels like my difficult baseline continuing. Sleep and sensory symptoms took a hit, but I am getting through the week better than I feared. The gut-brain connection remains very active. I consistently experience a surge of panic right before bowel movements, and higher carbohydrates tend to trigger heavy systemic brain fog and fatigue, even though a recent carb-heavy meal oddly coincided with longer sleep. I don't have acute GI red flags like bleeding or constant diarrhea, which makes it hard to tell how much of this is driven by gastrointestinal issues versus the taper itself. I have a virtual doctor's appointment scheduled for September 15th, and I am conflicted about how to proceed. Prior stool tests showed dysbiosis, undigested starches, and elevated white blood cells, though celiac testing was negative. My doctor wants to order an endoscopy, colonoscopy, and lactulose breath testing to look for SIBO, SIFO, and gut inflammation. Given how much nervous system dysregulation and tapering impact gut motility and sensitivity, I am unsure whether pursuing extensive GI workups right now is the right move or if it is better to stay the course with dietary management while tapering. I would appreciate hearing any perspectives on how others have approached GI testing and doctor visits during withdrawal. Also, I wanted to ask about itching. I have been experiencing persistent itching on my upper back and groin. A couple of months ago, I had a diagnosed skin fungal infection that cleared up with an antifungal cream, so I am not sure if this is that same infection resurfacing or if it could be a symptom of withdrawal
