Very weird symptom

September 8, 2026··
Very weird nervous system characteristic due to damage. It's really weird and really dangerous. What would you do in my shoes? Every pain and discomfort is strengthened by what feels 5x. Even bumping my ankle sends me into pain. I'm hoping it will pass and that I will remain healthy and remain without any pain that would be amplified.

Prozac — 40 mg — 6 months — holding | Zyprexa — 20 mg — 6 years — holding | Depakote — 600 mg — 8 months — **tapering** | Buspirone — 20 mg — 8 months — holding | with clinician

I'm not glad to have any of these bad news but I am grateful that I have friends to share it with.

That sounds brutal, Wolf. Amplified pain is a common nervous system response during withdrawal, where everything feels turned up a few notches. It usually settles as your system recalibrates, even if it feels endless right now. Catina's links are a good place to start for understanding what's happening. Since you're already getting solid advice there, I'd just add that keeping your movements gentle and avoiding new injuries might help you ride this out. Are you noticing this amplification mostly at certain times of day, or is it pretty constant?

Hello wolf. I have been tapering with the help of a Naturopath and she has put me on a form of magnesium. You need to be careful what type as it can cause gastrointestinal issues, particularly diarrhoea. But the right one reduces muscle tension and improves sleep. Im also into therapeutic oils. If you can get essential oils you can add them to a base oil to use as a massage. Some you can breathe in for relaxation. Again be cautious about overstimulating the CNS but research what is best for you. I practice yoga every day to keep the muscles moving and meditation or breathing can help with stress. I hope you get relief soon x
