Hi Marina, have you ever had a Covid vaccine before? It's hard to know how your own body would react. Even people not going through psychiatric drug withdrawal can have a negative reaction to a vaccine. On the other hand, many people have no issues, even ones tapering psychiatric drugs.
It's definitely something to weigh the risks and benefits of. The Covid-19 virus is much weaker than it used to be. There are lots of things to consider. I hope you can make a decision that you feel comfortable with.
Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.28 mg Trazodone - 50 mg Synthroid - 25 mcg “Your brain and body know how to heal. Trust the process and keep going.” Please Note: I am not a healthcare professional. Any advice given is based on personal experience and that of others in the lay withdrawal community.
hi!!! not covid vaccine, but I got my flu shot on 10/16, and I don’t want to pin point everything to my flu shot, I also started my cycle but it set me back 10 steps, feel like i’m at the beginning again. not trying to scare but just my experience.
2020-august 21st 2026 - 5mg lexapro august 21st - september 21 2026 - 10 mg prozac cold turkey due to adverse reaction to prozac
Hi Marina! Catina's advice is solid, definitely weigh up your individual risks of getting vs not getting the vaccine.
Regarding withdrawal symptoms, my only thoughts would be to time getting the vaccine away from any changes in medication just to reduce the chances of an interaction further. And that way if you did have any side effects from the vaccine you would know it's that rather than wondering if it was a medication change or vaccine.
All the best xx
