Hospitilization

Anyone hospitalized at any point in this journey? If so, what for? Unfortunately if you aren’t suicidal ( which of course is absolutely part of this, zero judgement) you can’t get help of any kind. My sleep is a wreck and no one wants to help. Why isn’t there more support to get through this from the medical community?

Paxil — 20 mg — 20 years. Went off now back on — holding
Trazadone 25 mg
Buspar 5 mg two times a day
Ativan .25 at night

I went to the hospital once, they told me to take my medication again and gave me Lorazepam to calm down. I was still kind of glad that there was somewhere to go even though they didn't understand But I am not in the US so I don't know anything about your area. I like to imagine a future with wholesome, lovely facilities we can go to for help.

Zoloft — current 2.8 mg — 6 years — actively tapering - tapered from 50 mg

I've had four different hospitilization for very different reasons. Ans I think and hope there will be no more. Are these sleep problems related to tapering or it is something different? In the USA through this sote you can get some help from the deprescriber community. A lot of them are in your country, maybe they can help. In the UK there is a doctor that gives you 15 minutes of her time to briefly assess the situation. I know it's not much, but if you struggle trusting prescribers this might help.

Abilify — 300 mg Maintena — 7 years but with different dosage — planning taper | other — EN delorazepam medication: current dose 1 mg when needed — 2 years — holding | other — Akineton - 2 mg — 5 months — holding | with clinician

The US is terrible. They just like to add and add meds. And then when you have side effects they have no idea where they come from.

I've been hospitalized twice, and both times were due to being suicidal from tapering too fast. I have learned to keep myself away from the hospital as there is not much they can do but offer more drugs. It's sad but true. I understand your frustration about the lack of knowledge and support from the medical community. That's why this community is so needed and can help fill in the gaps. The real experts when it comes to psychiatric drug withdrawal are the patients themselves, so you're already among them! It shouldn't have to be this way, but unfortunately it is for the time being. Antidepressant withdrawal has been gaining more attention in the media lately, and more and more people are being affected by it since so many are on these drugs. It's getting hard to ignore. The best place for us to heal is right here - together - with people who understand and can provide the knowledge and support we truly need. 🩷

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.92 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Levothyroxine - 25 mcg

@Catina im sorry for you. I was in the ER once and they don’t treat you like it’s a medical event ( directly related to medicine) so when you go just for help they only offer inpatient or outpatient therapy with very little medical support!
