Been on antipsychotics and lithium since 2017. I have tapered down olanzapine from 30mg to 7.5mg and currently planning to even things out and start tapering abilify from 25mg. Been on SA forum but since it seems totally closed I hope I have found a new home :-)

Hi Adam, and welcome! I came from SA too. There is another SA member on here too, and I'm sure more will join as time goes on. So you're planning on holding your olanzapine taper so you can start tapering Abilify? How have you been feeling? This is my new home, and I hope it will be yours too! Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.92 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Levothyroxine - 25 mcg

Hi Catina and thanks. Yes thats exactly right. I have been tapering Olanzapine since September 2024 after succesfull smoking/nicotine cessation. Honestly the beginning was a nightmare I didnt know how to taper and neither did/does my psychiatrist. Luckily I have learned a lot about tapering. Right now I am more stabilized but still learning that continuous taper is what is really stabilizing for me. 4 month hold of olanzapine rn and soon abilify taper after many years. After that I will resume Olanzapine taper hopefully until 0. After that abilify follows fingers crossed.🙂

I hope it goes well for you. Is there a reason why you don't want to completely taper off the olanzapine first? Sometimes our bodies need a nice long hold. Holding is healing too.
