Some bad news. My liver has fat buildup due to non-alcoholic causes. This has gotten much worse over the last months and years.
I am feeling pretty good and would prefer to hold my meds for an extended period of time. But I cannot, as some of my meds can significantly contribute to my fatty liver disease. So my question is whether you have any input on meds causing or contributing to fatty liver.
I may have to drop depakote by as much as 40% or 50% at a time, because not only smaller pills in the extended form are completely unavailable, but also this should probably not be taken by people with any advanced liver problems.
There is almost no pain and the disease is easily reversible - if properly treated. There is no news yet on whether there is fibrosis or which stage it is.
Prozac — 40 mg — 6 months — holding | Zyprexa — 20 mg — 6 years — holding | Depakote — 600 mg — 8 months — **tapering** | Buspirone — 20 mg — 8 months — holding | with clinician
