1st Zoloft Update - Feeling Very bad

August 26, 2026··
Feeling very bad. Been having bouts of nausea, headache, anxiety, crying spells, gi upset, muscle aches, flu-like symptoms, and sweating. Been holding at 14.275 for over a week after starting a new bottle of liquid Zoloft and crashing following a very careful daily microtaper.

Maria A.’s taper progress

Dose (mg)
Mood (/10)

Zoloft —50 mg to 15 mg — 8 years with a cold turkey and reinstatement in between— was liquid micro tapering, crashed at 14.275 mg and now holding at 15 mg.

My day yesterday was pretty bad also. Woke up with anxiety and agitation. Do you have a deprescriber you are working with?

Yes I do. I’ve also met with Dr. Horowitz regarding my taper plan.

If you don’t mind me asking, is it a doctor associated with this community? Or one that is well versed in tapering Venlafaxine? I only ask because I am having trouble finding a doctor, and I am at a critical point in my taper that requires a doctor’s guidance. I was doing so well on my own bead counting, but when I got down to 9 beads, I was unable to continue hyperbolic tapering. 😔 What does your doctor say about your severe symptoms? Did you just reduce your dose recently? I’m sorry for all the questions. I just feel all alone with no support. I found this site and feel so hopeful.

I wonder if Dr Horowitz is licensed in Florida

My dad is a neurologist and is the one that prescribes for me but really doesn’t know much about withdrawal. I’ve really relied on Dr. Horowitz’ guidance. I had a previous psychiatrist but he kept trying to poly drug me which only made me worse so I stopped working with him.

So Dr. Horowitz only provides tapering recommendations but is not a provider. He wrote the Maudsley Deprescribing book. Here is the link to his appointments https://calendly.com/horowitzconsulting
