As I mentioned last week, my doctor confirmed my gut issues aren't an emergency, so we are holding off on any medical procedures. I’ve been on the low-FODMAP diet for about 70 days now. Aside from a minor slip-up with some blueberries and an extra meal, I've stuck to it, though I'm skeptical about staying on it for a full three months as advised . My gut alternates between feeling completely paralyzed and severely bloated to the point where it's hard to breathe feels like it , and trying to walk triggers panic specially when I have that bloating. Even though I don't have vomiting or severe diarrhea, this gut brain thing is is brutal, and I can tell the gut issues are directly affecting my neuropsychiatric symptoms. On the tapering front, I made a total cut of 3.73% this month, with my most recent cut of 1.73% on the 16th. The first four days were fine, but days seven and eight were an absolute nightmare. I woke up completely out of my body and didn't think I'd make it out of my room. Today is day nine, and I think I am finally past the peak of the withdrawal. I plan to hold my current dose for the rest of the month to let my body stabilize before I even think about tapering again. I was hoping to see some stability with the lower dose, but my central nervous system is still going crazy. I'm dealing with a few bizarre physical symptoms and would love to know if anyone recognizes them as withdrawal. First, I have intense, localized itching in a specific spot on my back and groin that keeps returning. Second, I'm experiencing a throbbing, heartbeat-like pain in my lower molars and surrounding gums, but only after eating my main meal at lunch. It persists into the night but is completely gone when I wake up, leaving me confused if it's withdrawal-related or a real dental issue. My sleep is also strange I'm getting five to seven hours, but it's completely unrefreshing. I never actually feel sleepy just close my eyes, time disappears, and I wake up groggy. The neuropsychiatric symptoms are by far the hardest to endure right now. I am experiencing severe anhedonia, OCD, Jamais Vu, and derealization that makes me feel like I’m stuck inside a video game altered perception altered thinking even in my dreams. My brain feels completely hollowed out and hopeless. At times, my thoughts get trapped in terrifying loops a simple YouTube video triggered a visceral feeling that I was trapped in a war zone. I've also forgotten how to simply rest. If I try lying in a dark room to calm my nervous system, I get hit with severe panic and existential dread, questioning basic concepts like what resting even means. I only feel slightly grounded once I turn the lights back on. Finally, my reaction to my daily dose feels almost paradoxical. About 40 minutes after taking it, I get a brief window of calm, followed immediately by racing thoughts, facial paresthesia, and a wired feeling, like I drank too much caffeine. Despite this, I eventually manage to pass out. I know there are many other symptoms I haven't listed, but I just want to know if these all sound like standard withdrawals. Hopefully, by next week's update, I'll be somehwat stabilized from this month's cut.
