10th Paxil Update - In a Crisis

Hey Summer, going from 10mg to 0.8mg is quite the jump. Over what time frame did this take place?

I might be the only person in the world that has survived what I have been through with medication. Since the 3rd of Feb this year. I actually on 20mg and dropped to 10mg in only a week because of high serotonin issues. It was not enough though... It was a forced hard taper. I nearly died from serotonin syndrome. I went from 10mg-0mg for 2 weeks, back to 10mg, then 5mg, then none, then 2 mg, then none, then 10mg , then 5mg, them none...You get the gist? Completely ruined my brain in 3 months. I dedicated every day to research. That is why I am here. I am in Australia and no doctor will listen to me. But I have been on it for 24 years, and tried at least 8 times to get off. I have also been given so many psychiatric meds and treatment in the last few years its a wonder I am still alive. All advice was from psychiatrists and doctors. I learnt who to hyperbolic taper from surviving antidepressants. I follow a release chart with liquid taper instructions. I am on 1ml as of today. I had to go up 0.2ml because I haven't had a window in 2 weeks. I held strong at 0.9ml for 10 days...It was bliss, then I crashed.

Thats quite a lot of changes in doseage in a small period of time. You have done a lot of research so i dont want to be interjecting with information you probably already know. The fast drops are probably the main reason for the issues, however as you mentioned you have serotonin syndrome so that complicates things.

@Lost summer, I'm really sorry you're having such difficulty. As you know, Paxil is indeed a tricky one to taper. My close friend is trying to get off of it too. She can only taper by minuscule amounts and is having lots of symptoms. You're not alone in your struggles. I'm sorry you don't feel supported by the medical community. Most of us don't receive the understanding and guidance that we should. Hopefully that will change one day. I'm really sorry you experienced a crash. It's so disheartening when that happens. I hope that your slight updose with a nice long hold will bring you some relief. Hang in there. We're here anytime.
