Thinking of tapering off cymbalta

Hi. I've been on cymbalta for about 8 years. Mostly it started for fibromyalgia and anxiety but I don't really think I had fibromyalgia. I definitely had anxiety and bad PMS and it helped those. ( I had a hysterectomy so I don't have PMS anymore and I'm on hormones that help a ton) Now I think the cymbalta is causing severe muscle and joint pain and I twitch all the time too. I am on thyroid meds which have helped a lot (hashimotos and hypothyroid). But I've read that it can be super hard to come off. I did attempt it on my own once by just cutting back the dose but I got so cranky it was awful. So I talked to my GP but she doesn't seem to understand tapering off and she just wants me to cut back to every other day then every three days for a month each and stop. I have major doubts that will work. My capsules do have beads so I can do the bead counting method. But I probably still need to go back to my GP and tell her it's what I want to do. I just hate standing up to doctors. Bleh. Anyway hi that's basically my story.
