Report on Doctor yesterday
I had a very good meeting with my doctor yesterday. It was a good back-and-forth discussion. He listened to me and I listened to him. It took a while for us to listen and respond, but that’s the way it is with good communication. I felt heard by him and that’s the most important part. He reminded me that he is an addiction specialist that doctors from all over our region send patients to him to get off of medications or other substances and he follows them during that time I had known that he is an addiction specialist but for some reason, I just thought it had to do with him giving drugs, not following people going off of drugs. That was a huge revelation to me then I was able to talk to him about tapering. He was very interested in what I was finding in this forum and asked that I pass on to him any thing that I learned that I think he would be interested in especially about tapering so I bought the Maudsley protocol yesterday online and I’m going to give it to him for Christmas. I asked him to hold off on coming down on the Duloxetine until I’m feeling much better and he said he would. He also said that he would help me in tapering that medication. He said it will take a long time and I said yes I know.
I am breathing a lot better knowing that I have a doctor again and I don’t have to worry about issues with my health, knowing that he will partner with me in that. I specifically asked him to see me as a whole person with agency and full capability to partner in the full range of my health issues. So my next task is to continue working with my central nervous system until I feel as though it’s healing.
In my life, have been on Prozac, Wellbutrin, Amytriptiline, Ambien, Seroquel, Zoloft, pamelor, Nortriptiline, Clonazepam, Suboxone (for insomnia), Effexor, Valium, Trazadone, Zanax, and Gabapentin. These, I remember.
Currently on,Duloxetine 60 mg — 2 yr — holding | without clinician
