Klonopin how long is it going to take....

July 25, 2026··
Somedays it seems a never ending road. I did the math and I have some question: When I was reinstated i was prescribed 2,5 mg (20 drops) but I was stabilized with 1 mg. Inicial dose was 0,75 mg. In your experience reinstatement requires a doble dose? Why? I already had tinnitus, now is worse, and it just few days i feel a brief relieve. No anxiety, just a hit on my brain as if someone would punch my brain at midday then, fatigued. 1mg now, tapering every three weeks or 26 days each reduction. So, extending a tapering doesn't cause damage by being exposure to rhe drug such a long time? Let's say 2 years tapering. I'm really worried. I was never a person into alcohol or any ilegal drug. If my brain was already injured when CTed, I rather end this tapering faster than taking years of more damage. Thank you for any reply from those who survived to Klonipin.

I don't take Klonipin but from what I learned in my taper experience is that you are going to have to accept the "theoretical damage" that these medications will do to you. I was too scared of this damage and it made my taper sloppy. The resulting (2) crashes has taken so much more away from me then a slow taper would've. AKA the slow damage the medication "might" be causing is definetly not as bad as an acute crash that takes years to recover from. In which you still will have to hold because tapering further just makes the crash worse. Everyone is different but in my experience holding for at least 3-4 weeks (21-28 days) without ANY changes, is the best way to measure how a taper is affecting you. ANY includes taper, sickness, high stress, or litterally anything. You are better off extending your taper for years (which is lowkey the norm) than trying to cheat or rush the taper. You can't cheat your nervous system. If you are on this website, then you are already sensitive. Make time work for you not against you.

The drug is still in your body but the silver lining is there is less drug by 30% or 50% or more for most of your taper.

Prozac — 40 mg — 6 months — holding | Zyprexa — 20 mg — 6 years — holding | Depakote — 600 mg — 8 months — **tapering** | Buspirone — 20 mg — 8 months — holding | with clinician

Reinstatement is better at smaller doses, not larger ones: https://taper.community/thread/affd8e83-2361-4973-8f07-76d16744448a https://taper.community/resources/blog/reinstating-after-failed-cold-turkey https://taper.community/thread/ff7ce496-025a-4391-95b4-cdd0063f092b

Unless the drug is giving you an adverse reaction, it's better to stay as stable as possible while doing a very slow taper tailored to what your nervous system can handle. Slower is faster in the end. If we taper too fast, then that can make things worse. https://taper.community/drugs/klonopin

Does it mean that i would need to stay two months since the last tapering dose? What if symptoms just don't fade away? My fear is,develop tolerance to that dose, I've read testimonies of people who just stuck in a dose so they had to keep it for years or are still in the same dose and don't plan to continue tapering. I see there are not much people tapering klonopin here. Thank you for your reply.

Wolf, I know that with every tapering there are less poison in my body but is there and it's effects too. Nerve pain, muscle pain, tinnitus, migraines.... My biggest concern is tinnitus and I've read that if it subsides I will in years or maybe it will stay... So, that was my point. If something is gonna stay with me why making the long journey for ... nothing.

Thank you Catina. I've read somewhere that reinstatement should be done in small doses but instead I was prescribed a 150% more of the original dose. That's my concern, at the same time , that's my rage. Why? I'm asking to the wind since the "professional" will never reply that he wanted to fidelize a drug client for 3 years.

@Azul, here is a copy of The Ashton Manual if you haven't had a chance to look at it: https://www.benzoinfo.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Ashton-Manual.pdf Yeah, don't expect the "professionals" to be of much help when it comes to anything regarding proper tapering and withdrawal.

Gracias Catina. I already know the Ashton Manual. Trying to push it throughout the narrowing thinking in some professionals. I couldn't find much for me in it for me besides the 5 to 10 % taper doses every 2- 4 weeks. In my country liquid form of diazepam is not allowed for ambulatory use. So, here I am. At least Dr Ashton validated the hearing sensory symptoms. But I wanted to learn from people's experiences here. Sadly it seems like I'm the only one tapering this poison in this forum.
