I'm trying to get better

July 25, 2026··
question
Im at the end of the eighth week and finally starting to stabilize. My waves are definitely getting shorter, windows staying longer. Is it going to effect anything if I start taking my antipsychotics again? They wanted me to start on caplyta. I'm just terrified.

Yes, it could very well affect things. Why do they want you on an antipsychotic again? You don't have to agree if you don't feel comfortable.

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.92 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Levothyroxine - 25 mcg

@Catina I have schizophrenia and its starting to take a toll on people i love. I just don't know what to do. I offered them a break until I can get back on my medication. What's bothering me is the waves are definitely shorter but the windows aren't as bright. I'm worried that means things are getting worse again. But the longest wave I've had lately is almost three days. But probably because of the two seizures I had this week. Before that down to one day. Is it getting better even though the windows aren't as great as they were? On July 5th I felt the most normal I've ever felt in six years. A whole two weeks of just continuous improvement and back here again. But, that means its almost over doesn't it?

I'm sorry to hear this. Have you ever tried Metabolic Therapy using a Ketogenic diet for your schizophrenia? Many people have seen improvement in their symptoms by doing this. Long-term antipsychotic use has many health risks and side effects. Just some food for thought. We'll support you no matter what you decide.
