How do you manage the withdrawal

July 9, 2026··
I started then Zoloft 3 years ago together with quetiapine. I got back on my feet. After 1 year at 150 mg of Zoloft i tapered down to 100 due to paradox effect, which came back again this year, forcing me to taper down to 75 first and then down to 25 which is my currently dosage since May. I also take 100 mg of quetiapine and 50 of Trazodone both XR. How do you manage the waves of symptoms? I was awful for 3 weeks after tapering, the two weeks and a half fine and now since saturday i'm a bit over the place. A day I feel sleepy, then anxious, then numbed (but not too much mentally, but i feel like incapable of crying for example). how do you help? do you take any integration or...This is what always prevented me to stop completely, but I'm at the point I simply don't want anymore.

I'm really sorry you're dealing with this Stefan. You did some pretty large reductions, which may explain your difficulties. It might be good to hold for awhile. If you check the Symptoms and Self-Care section of the Forums there is some helpful information about how to handle different withdrawal symptoms. I hope it helps!

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.92 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Levothyroxine - 25 mcg

Yeah, the plan i made is to stay as I am and atm no other tapers are planned in the short period or longer. I know it was a bit of a jump, but it seems I didn't have much choice unfortunately. I take the positive side, the paradox effect is gone :D
