Hi guys, just joined and thought I'd share a bit about my journey. I was on sertraline for roughly 2 years as I was told I had depression, after those 2 years I decided to taper off due to some side effects such as low sex drive, I tapered off successfully with no really issues. About 8 months later I went back to the doctor as I having some anxiety around work and feeling stressed out, I was told my depression had returned. The doctor prescribed me Pristiq at a low dose, I wasn't convinced and left the on my bench for about a week. The anxiety wasn't going away so I thought that I would take them short term to see if it helps (not knowing any better) after all, no issues on the other tablets. I took them for 3 days and noticed my anxiety got worse and I was more agitated, I did some research and what I found was it was normal for this to happen when starting new meds, I keo taking them. After 7 days I Knew something was wrong as it was worse. I went back to the doctor and was told I can stop them with no tapering due to short term use, I did this but symptoms got worse. I found my original doctor and went back to him thinking he'd understand, he didn't. He told me he thinks it's situational anxiety and prescribed me quetiapine at a very low dose for sleep, I tool myself of them after a, week also as saw what they are prescribed for. Since then I have been in protracted withdrawl for about 14 months, I have improved from where I was a year ago but still struggle some days. I have also been told by another coach (Angie Peacock) I probably have a kindling injury. I get windows and waves (in a horrible 4 week wave at the moment) main symptoms ate sound sensitivity, some anxiety, an internal hum and just an off feeling. I'm mostly functional going to work and until recently the gym but that had to stop in the last 6 weeks suddenly, I don't understand why 🤦 I'm hoping for support while going through my healing journey.
