Hi, I'm Tania

June 28, 2026··
About to start tapering off citalopram 20mg properly so this time I won't experience the issues I've had before. I've been on this med for far too many years.

Hi Tania! Welcome to Taper Community. It's nice to see this site grow so much with people all around the world. I have a good friend who lives in Australia! The best way to taper is to do a Hyperbolic taper. If you've had issues before, definitely go slow and take your time. It might take longer, but it will be easier on your body. You don't want to taper any more than 10% each month from the previous month's dose. Since you've had issues before, it might be better for you to try 5% first to see how you react. Here are some links that I hope will help! https://taper.community/drugs/celexa https://taper.community/resources/blog/citalopram-celexa-withdrawal-guide https://taper.community/thread/d41182b4-060b-4c2e-a1e8-da9e6777d7e5 Wishing you all the best!
