Was on 40mg Prozac for 20 years. Started taper 4 months ago. Fine, but aware that tapering lower doses can be more of a challenge.
Not getting much assistance from GP or psychiatric NP I was referred to. (She advised me to stay on the medication.)
Have been listening to Josef Witt-Doerring.
I am a 70 year old widow of 4 years and my life is finally starting to stabilise. I have the freedom to deal with any withdrawal issues now without upsetting anyone else’s life.
Just want to avoid doing any damage possible from protracted withdrawal.
Would like to hear about someone else’s experience with this process, specifically with Prozac.

Hi @TahoeCat, nice to have you here. Congrats on getting as far as you have in your taper. You're right, things can get a bit trickier the closer we get to the end. Even at "low" doses these drugs still have an effect on our brain.
I'm glad to hear you've been learning more about Hyperbolic tapering. Knowledge is power!
Have you been reducing by no more than 10% each month from the previous month's dose? Prozac stays in the body for awhile, so any withdrawal symptoms can show up later. How have you been feeling?
