Hello,
We are all so much more than our diagnosis (obviously!). I was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 when I was 20. I am now 57 and after not having symptoms for over 20 years, under the supervision of my CNP med management provider, went cold turkey off 5mg of Abilify in May of this year. 4 months later, as of last week, I am back on. A friend, who is a retired nurse and homeopath, has said the supposed symptoms I was experiencing were in fact due to an abrupt cold turkey quit and suggested what I thought were symptoms of hypomania were actually withdrawal symptoms, even at this low dose and said this cycle is quite common-people think they have symptoms and get back onto their medication. I am so frustrated about ALL the missteps along the way by my providers. It’s disheartening, disgusting really! Here seeking support and to find out if others have tried to come off a low dose of Abilify. TIA!
