I've been taking Seroquel for 20 years for insomnia. I need to titrate off it before I start a cancer drug therapy. I've been taking 50 mg. Would like to get off as fast as I can without debilitating symptoms. I'm working with my primary care dr to start.

Hi @Rob7, welcome to Taper Community! I understand your need to be off the Seroquel. What sort of timeline do you need to work with? This process can't be rushed unfortunately. You might do okay with a quicker taper, but it all depends on how your own system can handle it. Tapering too fast off psychiatric drugs can cause serious issues that can take awhile to recover from. What is the name of the drug you need to be put on? Is there a concern about it interacting with the Seroquel? We'll await more information from you and help the best we can. 🩷

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 16.64 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Synthroid - 25 mcg

The quickest way off 50,mg is to go as slow and as safe as you can otherwise your body will take longer to heal from withdrawal symptoms. Listen to Anders Sørensen, or read his book Crossing Zero. Also Mark Horowitz Slow and steady, the lower you go the smaller the cuts Be the tortoise not the hare to be able to walk off serequel Best of luck And I hope your cancer treatment is successful ❤️‍🩹
