Hi, I'm Rena

March 14, 2026··
I am not tapering off any medication, I'm a pharmacy student and I am here to learn more about psych med withdrawal and tapering. I used to be one of those people who think that "discontinuation symptoms are mild" and withdrawal symptoms are just "the disorder coming back" — I've since learned that this is not the case. If you have anything you wished your healthcare provider understood about psych meds, feel free to reply. I believe being a good clinician means listening and understanding your patients.

Hi Rena! Thanks for joining us! I was the same. Trusted the books. But when we listen to real stories we get so much closer to the truth. Looking forward to seeing you in here!

Hi Rena (Morphine)...a big welcome to you! Thanks for being here. Your interest in this subject is appreciated since learning from real-life examples is the best education there is.

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.92 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Levothyroxine - 25 mcg

Please Note: I am not a healthcare professional. Any advice given is based on personal experience and that of others in the lay withdrawal community.

Welcome 😊 It takes guts to question what you were taught. A lot of us were told withdrawal was just “relapse,” and we paid the price for that myth. The best clinicians listen to the people who’ve actually lived through it. Thanks for staying curious 🧐
