Hi, I'm PeggyB

Hi @PeggyB, a very warm welcome to you! We're happy to have you here, and you'll be in good company since there are many members in your situation. A large reduction followed by a large updose can sensitize the nervous system. Give yourself lots of time to stabilize as it can take some time. What symptoms are you dealing with at the moment? https://taper.community/thread/ff7ce496-025a-4391-95b4-cdd0063f092b If it were me I wouldn't make any more changes until things leveled out. After that, definitely reduce by a lesser amount. If you're not familiar with Hyperbolic tapering, you can learn about it in the Resources section. Do you need help discussing this with your doctor? If so, here is some information that will help: https://taper.community/thread/dbb2cdbb-bb3d-4bb9-93ab-b33de4a3fd0b https://taper.community/resources/blog/how-to-talk-to-your-doctor-about-tapering We look forward to supporting you during this difficult time. There are many other members who are holding while they continue to stabilize. Hang in there, it does get better! Catina 💜

Hi Catina, thank you for your response. I am planning to hold at 40mg until I feel much better. I’m very worried since it’s been almost 10 weeks back up at 40mg and my symptoms are still very intense! Any support I can get is appreciated.

Thank you ! We need all the encouragement we can get!

I also had a rough time when I reinstated my original dose of Prozac 10mg. It took me approx 4 months before I felt like I have was having some good days. And soon after I felt well enough to begin my slow taper. Hang in there. Leave things where they are so your nervous system has the opportunity to stabilize.

Thank you so much ! I appreciate the fact that you can relate . Are you doing a hyperbolic taper?

Wow, I can’t even imagine. I’m getting better but not stabilized yet. This is such a long road! Congratulations on how far you’ve come

Are you working with a clinic ? I met with Outro and may use them when I’m ready.

No, I am doing this on my own. Unfortunately my faith in medicine has plummeted through all of this, even though I work in the field, so I continue to arm myself with all of the information I can and make decisions based on the feedback my body is giving me.

My faith in medicine has plummeted as well. I had been a patient of his for 20 years. He was so non chalant about my taper from 40mg of Prozac to 20 mg. He never even mentioned a slower taper. Good for you for taking control! It’s nice to have someone to talk to that relates!
