I’ve been taking SSRI’s for about 10 years, and recently went through an intensely terrifying and excruciating period of withdrawals after stopping abruptly. Unfortunately my psychiatrist had no sympathy or advice for me, so I was left feeling helpless and lost. I’m now absolutely terrified of the idea of running out of my medication, but at the same time, I don’t think I want to be reliant on them for the rest of my life. I just want to connect with someone who might have had a similar experience, or with a professional who can advise me on what to do.

Hi @Nikki, welcome! I'm sorry for your experience and that your psychiatrist was no help. It doesn't surprise me. They're not much help when it comes to safe deprescribing or anything related to withdrawal. I understand you wanting to live your life free of psychiatric drugs. That's the goal of many of us here. I think that armed with the right knowledge you can most definitely do this! When taking multiple drugs, it's best to taper just one at a time. So you're wanting to taper Prozac first?
