Been on Olanzapine for mild Schizophrenia for roughly 22 years. Started reducing from 10mg on 15th of Sept 2026 by going to 7.5mg. Just looking for a small amount of added support for successful tapering and some added insight my psychiatrist may not be giving me.

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.28 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Synthroid - 25 mcg

Thankyou, it is interesting you recommend a 10% reduction in dose through compounding or dissolvable medication. I don't see my psychiatrist for 2 months, so for now I'm going to roll with the 2.5g (25%) reduction unless things get particularly tough. When I see him next I'll try to convince him into the 10% taper for the rest of the way.

A 10% reduction is a general recommendation. Some are able to do more, some less. It's easier to start out conservatively and speed up than to rush things and then try and backtrack. Hopefully it'll go smoothly! Definitely keep an eye on how you feel. You can always adjust things later if you have to.
