Hi, I'm Nat

Hi, my name is Nat, and I am reaching out on behalf of my adult son, who is currently undergoing a highly challenging taper from Paliperidone (Invega). He has been on this medication for three + years and has managed to reduce his dose from 9mg down to his current holding dose of 3mg. Unfortunately, our progress has hit a severe wall. Because Paliperidone is a coated, time-release tablet, making precise, smaller reductions is nearly impossible. To make matters more difficult, his current psychiatrist is uncooperative and refuses to assist us with a harm-reduction tapering plan.
My son is currently experiencing brutal withdrawal symptoms, including:
Involuntary muscle twitches in his hands and legs, severe
cognitive issues and brain fog, erratic behaviours,, social disconnection and withdrawal, complete exhaustion, weight gain etc.
We are deeply concerned about his well-being and want to transition him to a liquid formulation—or an equivalent liquid taper —to allow for a much safer, micro-tapering process moving forward.
Does anyone know of an open-minded prescribing doctor, integrative psychiatrist, or general practitioner who understands psychiatric drug withdrawal and is willing to work collaboratively with families? We are also open to recommendations for local compounding pharmacies that have experience preparing custom tapering suspensions.
Thank you so much for any leads, resources, or guidance you can share.
