I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia and have been taking psychiatric medication for 13 years. My goal is to gradually reduce my quetiapine dose and eventually discontinue it completely, if possible. I do not want to stop taking it abruptly. I want to reduce the dose slowly and carefully, under medical supervision, to minimize withdrawal symptoms and the risk of relapse.

Seroquel — 400 — 12 years — actively tapering | Trazodone — 100 — Few weeks — holding | Lamictal — 200 — 20 years — holding | Valium — 5 mg — Few months — holding

It is possible! Actually quite probable if you have faith and take it slow. The 10% hyperbolic drop each month of one drug at a time, is the best way to go. Do you still feel schizophrenic? If you feel stable now and can be conscious of your state of mind, then you can handle slow, small drops. Congrats on your start of getting rid of these drugs! 🙏
