Hi, I'm Marial
April 23, 2026··
I’ve been on antidepressants for over 35 years, on and off, mostly on. I previously withdrew too quickly from multiple medications, later developed benzodiazepine dependence, and spent years tapering off clonazepam. I’m now back on Lexapro and still working through a very gradual taper. I’m very sensitive to changes and can only taper in very small doses using a liquid.
At this point I can only reduce by about 2% at a time without feeling unwell. It’s a slow process, but I’m determined to stay on track toward eventually becoming medication-free. I’m also looking to connect with others who are similarly sensitive so I don’t feel like I’m overthinking how difficult this is.
Lexapro — 23.5mg — 10 years/off 12 years/on again 3 years — holding
