Tapering: Mirtazapine

I was on 45 mg of Mirtazapine for 8 years. I completed a 2 month taper and have been off the Mirtazapine for 6 weeks. My mood is good, but managing the physical symptoms of increased heat, early awakenings and GI upset and making me crazy.

Hi Lelaine! Welcome..... ❤️ Congrats for getting off the Mirtazapine! That's no small feat. You did do a pretty rapid taper, which might explain some of your symptoms right now. Sometimes symptoms can emerge weeks to a few months after cessation of a drug. I'm glad that your mood is in a good place! It will take some time for things to stabilize, so treat your body well. Try to stay away from alcohol, sugar, nicotine, caffeine, and any recreational drugs. Be careful with supplements too. Eat whole unprocessed foods and stay well hydrated.
