Hi, I'm Klou

Hi I'm Klou. I have been on Escitalopram for 15 years. I'm trying to navigate perimenopause and my med. I tried HRT and my anxiety shot through the roof. Began exploring tapering off Escitalopram and just using HRT. It's been a wild ride so far. A month ago, my psychiatric nurse practitioner gave me the green light to cut back Esc. But she did it too fast. I went from 10 mg to 5 mg. Hell began. Tried that for 2 weeks, inched up to 7.5 mg for a week and now have reinstated at my full 10 mg for the last week or so. I'm still having tons of physical anxiety. I'm not sleeping well and my appetite is gone. I'm learning about hyperbolic tapering now and hope to try again but I'm not sure when to try. I have 2 trips this summer, so I think I need to wait until after those to try again the proper way. I also stopped all HRT. Anyone else navigating perimenopause stuff alongside their SSRI journey? I'm hoping to learn from y'all and also not feel so alone in the mess.
