Hi, I'm Horizon

August 28, 2026··
Hi I'm Horizon, I've tapered from 400mg quetiapine to 100 in 6 months because of scary side effects and not being able to cope with life being so highly sedated. Only after getting to 100 did I realise getting off this stuff isn't easy. I've been on 100 for 4 months. One day I tried to reduce to 75 and felt dreadful so I'm holding for a long time before I start dropping again. It's great to find this place, nice to meet you ☺️

Seroquel — 400— 22 years —down to 100 in 6 months, 100 is taking a lot of time to get used to so resting on 100 for as long as it takes. holding | without clinician

Welcome Horizon. Dropping 400 to 100 in 6 months is a serious pace, so it makes total sense that 75 walloped you. Good call holding for now, that's the smart move. Worth logging check ins under My Taper as you go, you'll see the pattern clearly after a few weeks. Check out some of the resources in the sidebar and don't hesitate to jump in on other people's posts, your experience already matters here.

Hi Horizon, welcome! I think holding right now is a very wise decision. You're listening to what your body is telling you. A slow Hyperbolic taper is best, and you can read about how to do that in the Resources section in the left sidebar area. Here is the sub-forum of everyone who is tapering Seroquel if you'd like to connect with other members: https://taper.community/forums/seroquel We look forward to supporting you on your tapering and healing journey! 💜

Dec 400 to 300 was 25% April 300 to 200 was 33.33% May 200 to 100 was 50% From Dec 2025 to May 2026 roughly Thurs 30 July 100 to 75 25% but I decided to take the other 25 when I got home from work. I felt so bad I didn't think I could drive. I felt the effect of this day for weeks after I was moving too fast
