Hi HappyAgain, and welcome!
I'm sorry you went through a rough period in your life, but I'm glad to hear you're in a much better place now!
You've come to the right place to learn about Hyperbolic tapering and why it's the safest way to get off psychiatric medication. Have a look at the Learn section in the Navigation Bar on the left side of the site. It's recommended to taper no more than 10% each month of the previous month's dose. With a hyperbolic taper, the reductions will get smaller and smaller the closer you get to zero. Some find that they can only taper by 5% or even less. It's all about finding what's best for you since everyone is so different.
Have you discussed your desire to taper with your doctor? If not, and you need help doing so, we have some suggestions on how to approach the matter. Also, you can check out Find a Provider to locate a qualified deprescribing doctor if you so desire.
