Hi, I'm Erika

I’ve been trapped in the labyrinth of psychotropics since age 18. I’m now 61. I’ve tried nearly every available antidepressant, mood stabilizer, and antipsychotic. Ultimately, I was unable to tolerate “therapeutic” doses and / or their advantageous effects fizzled out within months. I’ve had too much court-mandated electroconvulsive therapy. My last psychiatrist admitted it caused cognitive damage. I’m ashamed to reveal how many psychiatrists gave up on me.
I’m on 150 mg of venlafaxine XR twice a day and 1 mg of clonazepam once a day; I’ve taken these for 30 years and in recent days have had the realization that their effectiveness on my recurrent, treatment resistant MDD is null. I’ve taken 150 mg of pregabalin twice a day for approximately 26 years for fibromyalgia. I feel worse with each passing year. I also have an unspecified connective tissue disorder, hypothyroidism, an eating disorder, and osteoporosis. In May 2025, I had a right nephrectomy and have CKD.
