Hi, I'm Ducasse

April 9, 2026··
Have been taking lithium for Bipolar Disorder since 1990. Last 20 years have taken a variety of different SSRIs. Was put on 20-25 mgs of Olanzapine by an especially sociopathic psychiatrist for 15 years. Managed to get off it about 2 years ago. Have reduced from 200mgs to about 35mgs of Zoloft. Both Olanzaline cessation and Zoloft reduction have occasioned extreme protracted withdrawal symptoms. Use Keto now to manage undelying Bipolar symptomology. To say I'm scathing of psychiatry and medicine would be an extreme understatement!

Welcome to Taper Community Ducasse! I can relate to having a long history of taking psychiatric drugs.

That's sounds hard - being on a drug like that for so long and having a reckless psychiatrist. I'm so glad you were able to get off of it even though it's causing you some residual issues.

I'm so sorry to hear this! What sort of symptoms are you dealing with? Do you have any windows of relief? Are you able to function for the most part?

That's great! Please have a look at the Metabolic Health section. There's lots of helpful information there.

I feel the same way! I used to put my trust in it, but it's something I've developed a deep disdain for. I'm glad you're finding your way out. Glad to have you here, and we look forward to supporting you on your path to healing! Catina ❤️

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.92 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Levothyroxine - 25 mcg

Welcome, Ducasse. We're happy to have you here. Unfortunately, there are quite a few of those kinds of psychiatrists practicing. I, too, am scathing of psychiatry and the wares they peddle. We're here to support you. Just let us know what you need.
