Hi, I'm Debbie

June 23, 2026··
Hello, I've been on multiple medications for 25 plus years. Was told to taper off a benzodiazepine too fast and experienced protracted withdrawal. I have healed a lot but still trying to get off all my meds if possible. I have hope and the keto diet has been a game changer for my healing.

Celexa — 4 mg — 25 years — actively tapering | Gabapentin — 600 mg — 25 years — holding | Valium — 16 mg — 25 years — actively tapering | with clinician

Hi Debbie! Welcome.... nice to have you here! I have also been on psych drugs for a very long time and can relate to wanting to be off of them. It can be a long journey, but it's so worth it! Did you taper off Valium? How long have you been off it? What symptoms are you dealing with now? I'm really glad that you've experienced improvement, especially with the keto diet! If you're still healing from benzo withdrawal, it might be a good idea to wait until you taper any other drugs as this will only disrupt your nervous system further. Also, when dealing with multiple drugs, it's best to taper only one drug at a time. You know your body best though, so you'll want to gauge everything by how you're feeling and functioning. We look forward to supporting you on your tapering and healing journey Debbie! You can do this! Catina ❤️
