Hi, I'm Debbie

June 13, 2026··
I’ve been on Effexor and Xanax for 35 years. I’ve finally gotten myself to the lower dosages, but now I’m going to need help to completely get off them. I came to this community to gain knowledge so when I go to my physician, I can make sure he’s deprescribing accurately.

Effexor — 37.5 — 35 years — actively tapering | Xanax — .5 mg — 35 years — actively tapering | with clinician

Hi Debbie...welcome! Glad to have you here. When dealing with multiple drugs, it's best to taper only one at a time. Also, here is some information to help you discuss the subject with your doctor. I hope it helps!
