I finished my taper from Lexapro one week ago, after five months. My Doctor recommended a two week taper, which scared me, so I went slower with limited guidance. I am looking for support resources to prevent rebound anxiety or depression after stopping that are scientific and backed by evidence, not just anecdotes like I've seen on places such as reddit.

Welcome CAY! You are in the right place. You will find lots of support and good information here. I got a lot of help browsing the " resources " section.

atypical in presentation of side effects, super sensitive to small doses and general delayed responder. never took a psych med that didn't' make me sick immediately with infections and restless legs. have never been able to tolerate being on them, but have never had support to get off so I've been bouncing back and forth. i don't like capital letters. sorry.

Paxil — 1 mg — 2 yrs — holding until Oct. 7 doc appt.
Seroquel — 50 — planning taper |
trileptal -75 planning taper
prasozin 1 mg planning taper

Hi @Cay, welcome! How have you been doing since getting off the Lexapro? I'm glad you knew enough to do a slower taper. I'm not sure how you tapered, but just keep an eye on things. Sometimes withdrawal can hit later on. Trazodone - 50 mg
Levothyroxine - 25 mcg

Hard to say how I’m going, been off for 8 days but currently have a head cold/ sinus thing going on. Not sure how much I can blame on the Lexapro! If symptoms were to occur later on, is there a general timeline? Like after two weeks or more?

I've seen withdrawal hit anywhere from immediately to 3-4 months later. It can be very unpredictable. Keep in mind, though, that not everyone will experience withdrawal symptoms. About 56% of people do. Hopefully you'll be okay. Let us know how you're doing as time goes on. ❤️

Thank you! I’ve absolutely felt increased anxiety and the physical symptoms that come with it since stopping, plus some shakiness and fatigue. Fingers crossed it resolves itself
