Hi @Cailin Cee, welcome! I'm glad you reinstated at a low dose. Withdrawal symptoms can sometimes hit later on. I'm sorry about the insomnia and anxiety. So you've tapered off your SSRI completely? Which drug was it? How long have you been off? It's your choice about taking another drug, but just keep in mind that if it does help then you'd be faced with having to taper it in the future. The safest route is to keep things as simple as possible and allow time to balance things out again while implementing non-drug coping techniques. 27 years is a long haul and having a doctor fast taper you after that is rough. Sorry you landed on mirtazapine, but I get why you tried it when the anxiety and insomnia got that bad. Catina makes a good point about keeping things simple, but you already know that. You clearly did your homework with the hyperbolic taper, that knowledge is going to help people here.
