I'm sorry about the interaction between your two drugs. What is the name of the heart medication and why have you been put on it?
I understand you wanting to get off the Prozac, but you've been on it for many years so it could take a little time to taper it safely and allow your brain to adjust.
So far you've been doing a linear taper and have reduced by 25%. How long have you been at 30 mg? Are you having any withdrawal symptoms currently?
Prozac stays in the body longer than other antidepressants, so any withdrawal effects could be delayed in showing up.
Normally we recommend tapering by no more than 10% of the previous months' dose in a Hyperbolic manner, but since you're having a reaction I understand you wanting to get off. If we go too fast though, it can increase our chances of withdrawal symptoms. I guess you'll need to find a balance for yourself.
