Hi My name is Ann. I was mis diagnosed with Bipolar 2 for 20 yrs. 2020 diagnosis changed to Eupd + complex ptsd due to child hood trauma [ emotional abuse]. Have been on antidepressant + seroquel for yrs - have worked with clinical Psychologist doing Schema Therapy- feel much improved. Have already weaned seroquel from 200 mgs to 25 mgs over 18-24 mths. At 25 mgs - unable to wean further even by 1 mg as withdrawals hit on day 3 . Desperate to slowly wean off seroquel as feel sedated ++ every day till 10 pm approx e night . Please help me achieve this. Thank you

Hello Ann, and welcome! We're glad you found your way here to Taper Community. First of all, I'm really sorry about your misdiagnosis of Bipolar 2. I find that many peoples' mental health struggles originate from childhood trauma and adverse life events. I'm glad you've had improvement with your therapy! I'm sorry to hear that your Seroquel taper is getting more challenging. Before you make your reductions do you feel stable as far as symptoms go? We definitely don't want to taper if we're not in a stable place. When was your last reduction? Sometimes a nice long hold is needed too, as holding is an important part of the tapering process. Are you using a liquid version? Also, what withdrawal symptoms are you experiencing other than sedation? When things are getting more challenging, it means that we either need to wait longer between reductions or reduce by a lesser amount. The important thing is to listen to your body and adjust things accordingly. https://taper.community/drugs/seroquel https://taper.community/resources/blog/quetiapine-seroquel-withdrawal-guide We look forward to supporting you on your tapering and healing journey!
