Taking Zoloft (Sertraline) for the last 6 years, mostly on 25 mg. I tried to stop twice but had severe withdrawal symptoms. At that time I was told it was relapse and went back on it, still took some time to get better. Once I realized what was going on, around 14 months ago, I started to taper more slowly. It started to get more difficult at around 7 mg and even more around 3-4 mg. Now I am at 2.8 mg. Sometimes I still can't fully believe that this is possible. I have a psychology background, I feel like I should have known about this. The most useful information I found was from people with similar experiences. I want to learn more, spread the word and support others in the future.

Yes, the greatest changes in serotonin receptors happen at these very low doses, so that's why it gets extra challenging at the end. Glad to hear you're taking things slowly. We look forward to supporting you for the rest of your tapering journey! Catina 🌸

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 16.64 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Synthroid - 25 mcg

Welcome! And there are Psychiatrists that have no understanding or education in describing, don't be so hard on yourself 😉

Thank you both! Some additional information: I had another crash at around 4mg around 8 months ago, reinstated to 5 and continued even slower, still experiencing withdrawal symptoms at every reduction but I stabilize after around 5 weeks, so I think there is still a long road ahead :)
