Hi, I'm AmethystOpal

September 7, 2026··
I’ve been taking 0.5mg of lorazepam daily for about 5-6 weeks now to help with my panic attacks during my sleep and I need help coming off of it. It’s so hard to find someone that can help and that wants to help.

Welcome, AmethystOpal. Five or six weeks on lorazepam is short enough that you have a real window here, and it makes sense that finding a prescriber who takes withdrawal seriously feels like pulling teeth. Check out the Taper Plan in the side bar and get a plan started! Since you're just starting out, logging your daily dose and sleep quality in the taper journal under My Taper will give you and whoever helps you concrete data instead of guesswork. It also shows a doctor you're tracking things carefully, which tends to get you taken more seriously. Once you're a bit further along, don't hesitate to share what you learn here. Someone who just started this same road will read your posts and feel less alone.
