Hi, I'm Alicia

August 15, 2026··
introduction
Senior with recent diagnosed ADHD. Been on countless psychotropics ‘scripts for years, and years and years and after neuro-psych evaluation testing, theraputric, techniques, skilled counseling with minimal prescription would IMO, been a more practical, sane and conservative approach, rather than an introduction of combined, radical pharmaceuticals (a result of failed diagnostician(s) ) lacking any intensive clinical / psychological / cognitive eval. Drugs may have saved me, but the quality of life may have based more on getting through, rather than experiencing life, living.

Hi @Alicia, welcome to Taper Community! Many people find that after years and years of taking psychotropic drugs, it's not benefitting them and wish to live life free of them. We fully support your desire to so. It sounds like you've been through a lot with the medical system, and I sense your frustration. In your check-in post you asked if you'd be able to find a doctor that supports you. You can try searching for a deprescribing provider in the Find a Provider feature on the left sidebar. If you can't find one and need help discussing the topic with your own doctor, we have information that can help you do that. If worse comes to worse, many people just taper on their own after getting knowledge of how to do it safely. Let us know how we can best help you. Have a look around the site. We're glad to have you here! Catina 🌸

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.92 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
