Help!

September 4, 2026··
Stopped my tapering journey on 7-16. Ever since, I have been in a huge wave. During this time, I also fractured my foot and sprained my finger. I feel so hopeless. Now that my foot is healed and finger healing, all of my joints seem to hurt me. Has anyone dealt with joint pain?

That sounds like a brutal stretch. Joint pain is really common during withdrawal, especially after a period of physical stress like a fracture, since your nervous system is already sensitized. It often settles as the wave breaks, but it can feel endless when you're in the middle of it. Since you paused the taper on 7-16, this wave is likely your system still recalibrating from whatever cuts came before, not a sign that something is broken.

oh wow. so you think this wave is from previous cuts? not the most recent end of my tapering story?

Yes, I think that’s what he means. Sometimes during tapering, we unknowingly skip steps, especially when we get into the lower-dose range below the minimum therapeutic dose. From my experience, fascial tension throughout the body can also increase, which may contribute to joint or muscle pain. Bruxism at night may be another factor, with the tension potentially spreading through the fascial chains throughout the body and causing additional unexplained pain.

Cymbalta — 15mg(12mg) — 17 Jahre — holding -with clinician - 90 mg – 2021: First tapering attempt.
60 mg – 2023: Second tapering attempt.
With a doctor's supervision—but unfortunately, a doctor who doesn't know how to properly taper off an antidepressant.
