Don't trust plastic jug markings for tapering!
July 14, 2026··
tips
I realized today that the 500ml plastic jug I use to make my abilify suspension doesn't have accurate markings.
I used to rely on it to measure 200ml of water, then I'd use a syringe to draw out and discard 50ml, drinking the remaining 150ml (a 7.5mg dose, which is a 25% reduction). However, when I tested the jug's markings today by filling it using a 60cc syringe, I discovered the jug's lines are way off.
Moving forward, I will measure the water using a syringe instead. Because of this, my actual dose reduction was likely higher than 25% (and suspension errors can happen anyway). I just wanted to share this as a warning in case anyone else is relying on jug markings for their tapering!
