Hey, hope everyone is as well as they can be!
I stumbled on a video about slow tapering/hyperbolic tapering making symptoms worse.

As most of us know, before tapering or after tapering(CT’s or to fast), that hyperbolic tapering is recommended for most people on any pshyciatric medication. Its very often that people who taper too fast or even cold turkey, experience severe withdrawal symptoms. They can last years for people, but some people reinstate and taper slowly off that.
I want to take my tapering into consideration because I slow tapered/hyperbolic from the beginning. Went from 100mg of Sertraline in july 2025 to 40mg in january 2026. Thats about 10mg a month and I had no reaction to any of the dose drop. From 40 to 37.5 was probably a too big of a step for my system and I entered bad withdrawlals 2 weeks after dose drop. I updosed to 40 and that resolved. At that point I started having some issues and only reduced by 1mg every 8-12 week to see how my body was and that went alright. Was fairly stable until 8 weeks after dropping from 39 to 38 when I had s strenous exercise, sauna, infection and a strep throat. Overnight went into withdrawals that have now lasted almost 10 weeks!
Could this very slow taper and the beginning, because I had no reactions to any drop be contributing to this?
Or could my extremely slow tapering from 40mg(still at 75-80% of sert occupancy) to 38mg being just a more stressor?
What about me holding at 38mg for 4.5 months now?
Note: these are just some speculations on my behalf and can maybe start some discussion around this!
