Conversations with Prescribers: Side Effects/Half Lives/Small Doses (

Have you ever found yourself in a conversation with your doctor who shares or indicates your symptoms be that because of side affects or withdrawal inconceivable because you are on such a small dose and/or because your drug has a huge half life? How have you handled this to gain their understanding? Any tips on what one can say?

My sister is a pharmacist, her colleagues told her that a small dose (few milligrams of Zoloft) is just ,homeopathic,. The same happened with a psychiatrist I talked to. In both cases the receptor occupancy information/data really surprised them and made them think about it. It's a start I guess :)

Zoloft — current 2.8 mg — 6 years — actively tapering - tapered from 50 mg

Thanks Ani. My cognitive abilities are not what they could be at the moment, and I found the whole receptor occupancy hard to understand, let alone relay to another person. A very lay person example, one that is suitable for a small child to understand would help me I think.
